School/Group Projects

There are several opportunities each school year to do school and/or group projects.  One of those opportunities each year is during Humanities Week.  Humanities Week is a week that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders study, in depth, the ancient cultures of China, Rome, and Egypt.  During that week in Art, we always do a school project based on these and/or other ancient cultures.  The photos below show some of the projects we have done to add to the school grounds.

Another opportunity the children have to work together on a common piece of art is our COLORS program that we have done the last two years.  This is a school-wide project (K-5) in which the children each make something that is added to the schoolgrounds to beautify the school.  The front fence and the bricks around many of the trees around campus are a product of our COLORS art classes.  There are also photographs of group art pieces that we have created together such as auction items to be sold at Art shows or artwork that was created as part of different contests.
